Louise Burrell
Professor Louise Burrell MBChB, MRCP, MD, FRACP, FAHA. is a clinician-scientist, Professor of Medicine, Head of the Cardiovascular Research Group, University of Melbourne, and an active clinician at Austin Health, Victoria, Australia. She is a recognised international expert on the renin angiotensin system with particular expertise in ACE2, the receptor for COVID-19. She is involved in collaborative clinical research trials in patients with cardiovascular disease funded by the NHMRC and the Medical Research Future Fund. She sits on a number of Editorial Boards, and is a Board Member of the Institute of Breathing and Sleep. She has held executive roles with International Society of Hypertension including as Vice-President and Treasurer. She has supervised many PhD students and fellows and has over 200 publications
